Christine has been working as a freelance Textile artist and teacher since she graduated from Manchester School of Art with a BA Hons Textiles Degree in 2000, going on to qualify as a teacher with the aim of sharing her love of drawing and exploring different art processes and techniques with other people.
Christine teaches locally and nationally with art groups and colleges, running short courses and workshops both in-person and online. She exhibits and sells her work in the UK, making full size mixed media garments, drawings, and mixed media paintings.
Christine begins by researching into social history using the archives of Museums with a focus on family life. Using a range of techniques which involve drawing, painting, layering papers, fabrics and images then fusing them together with hot wax, and stitching into the papers with free machine embroidery, to create a rich mix of influences from the past.
